A day after getting bad news about one recent acquisition, the Jets got some good news Thursday.

The team announced that it has activated safety LaRon Landry from the Physically Unable to Perform list. Landry, formerly of the Redskins, is regarded as the Jets’ top offseason signing.

Landy missed the end of the 2011 season with the Redskins with a foot injury, but opted to have alternative treatments rather than surgery done on his foot and Achilles tendon issues.

On Tuesday, tackle Jeff Otah, who the Jets acquired in a trade this week from the Panthers, was placed on the PUP list after failing a physical. If he cannot pass one in the next seven days, the swap will be nullified.
