The Jets need Zach Wilson and their offense to, at some point, find a rhythm — and the end zone — to keep their playoff hopes alive, and their next chance to snap a lengthy touchdown drought comes Sunday when they face the Bills at Highmark Stadium.

Gang Green has lost consecutive games following its stretch of wins around the bye week, and the Jets’ offense hasn’t scored a touchdown since the first quarter of their Week 8 victory against the Giants. That means Wilson’s run as starting quarterback could be in jeopardy with another poor performance, though head coach Robert Saleh has remained loyal to the No. 2 pick in 2021 despite season-long struggles.

But the Bills’ season has also spiraled to the point where they’re 5-5 and in danger of missing the postseason.

They fired offensive coordinator Ken Dorsey and promoted quarterbacks coach Joe Brady to the interim role for the remainder of the season, with the Bills hoping that’ll spark what has still been a productive offense behind Josh Allen and Stefon Diggs.

The Jets defeated the Bills in Week 1 when Xavier Gipson returned a punt for a touchdown in overtime, sealing a bittersweet night for Gang Green that also featured Aaron Rodgers tearing his Achilles just four offensive snaps into the season.

Mekhi Becton leaves Jets game early in potential injury disaster

By Brian Costello

ORCHARD PARK — Jets left tackle Mekhi Becton entered this season with plenty of durability questions.

He has answered those by being able to start every game this season.

Now, that streak may be in jeopardy.

Becton exited Sunday’s loss to the Bills with an ankle injury and had to be taken to the locker room on a cart after walking to the sideline under his own power.

Becton was declared out in the second quarter.

Jets, Bills fight in hallway near locker rooms after emotional clash: ‘Real mad’

By Brian Costello

ORCHARD PARK – The action between the Jets and the Bills continued after the final whistle.

The two teams had a skirmish as they exited the field through the tunnel that leads to both locker rooms.

It did not appear that any punches were thrown but things were heated between players from both teams after the Bills’ 32-6 win.

Jets defensive lineman Micheal Clemons and Bills tackle Dion Dawkins were at the center of the kerfuffle.

“I’m not a fan of the Jets,” Dawkins told reporters. “Very disrespectful players.”

Garrett Wilson 'getting exposed' for poor ball security with recent fumbles

By Andrew Crane

Garrett Wilson said his fumble resulted from trying to maneuver around Bills linebacker Tyrel Dodson and not having good ball security. It's his second lost fumble this season, and both have occurred within the past three games.

Dodson just swung his left arm toward Wilson and knocked the ball out. It was one of his two catches, on eight targets, for nine yards in Sunday's loss.

"That's what happens in this league," Wilson said. "This season, I'm getting exposed for it, and I gotta fix it."

Zach Wilson 'frustrated' but understands reason for latest Jets benching

By Andrew Crane

Zach Wilson accepted that the Jets needed to make a quarterback change Monday night because for consecutive weeks, and really for the whole season, the offense struggled with him as quarterback. He only threw for 81 yards in nearly three full quarters. He didn’t complete a pass to a wide receiver, either.

So now the No. 2 overall pick in 2021 returns to the same situation as last year. His status as the Jets’ starter isn’t clear-cut or definitive anymore. It’ll come down to a quarterback decision during the week.

“Frustrated, but I get it,” Wilson told reporters. “Gotta score. Gotta be in games. … When things aren't getting done, changes gotta be made and I understand that."

Breece Hall apologizes to Jets fans: 'They don't deserve this'

By Andrew Crane

Breece Hall, who said the offense needed to “grow up” after the Jets’ loss to the Chargers in Week 9, didn’t hide his emotions again following Sunday’s game. He didn’t blast Zach Wilson or really comment on Gang Green’s looming quarterback dilemma, but the running back — after totaling 23 yards on 10 carries — did issue an apology.

"I'm sorry to the Jets fans,” Hall told SNY during one of his postgame answers. “They don't deserve this."

Bills, Jets players have skirmish in tunnel postgame

By Andrew Crane

Multiple players from the Bills and Jets, which reportedly included Buffalo's Dion Dawkins and Gang Green's Michael Clemons, were involved in a fight in the tunnel following the game, according to multiple outlets.

There was just a HUGE fight in hallway leading back to the locker rooms between the #Jets & #Bills. Dion Dawkins was involved in it from the #Bills. A very emotional Michael Clemons off field, too.

Robert Saleh doesn't commit to QB for Dolphins game

By Andrew Crane

In his postgame press conference, Jets head coach Robert Saleh didn't commit to a quarterback for Friday's game against the Dolphins — adding that he'll watch the film with the coaching staff and make a decision soon given the short week.

"29-6, just trying to see if we can get something going on the offensive side of the ball," Saleh said of pulling Zach Wilson for Tim Boyle late in the third quarter.

Jets blown out by Bills as Zach Wilson question now looms with playoff hopes tumbling

By Brian Costello

ORCHARD PARK — Robert Saleh finally joined many Jets fans and decided he had seen enough of Zach Wilson.

The Jets coach benched Wilson with 2:17 left in the third quarter of Sunday’s 32-6 loss to the Bills, replacing him with Tim Boyle after weeks of questions of whether the Jets should make a quarterback change.

Saleh resisted benching Wilson, the 2021 No. 2 overall pick, despite his struggles this season.

But Sunday he finally gave in and sent Wilson to the bench after watching another dismal day of offense from the Jets.

Final: Jets get crushed by Bills and fall further out of playoff picture

By Andrew Crane

With a 32-6 loss, the Jets don't look like a team that'll be competing for the playoffs late enough in the season for Aaron Rodgers to return.

But they'll enter Week 12 with a quarterback controversy after Zach Wilson was benched for Tim Boyle late in the third quarter. Wilson went 7-of-15 for 81 yards, a touchdown and an interception. Boyle completed 7-of-14 passes for 33 yards and a pick, too. Neither flashed much potential to ignite an offense.

The Jets snapped their touchdown drought, but that might've been the only positive from their third consecutive loss. Gang Green will host the Dolphins, which currently lead the AFC East, on Friday at MetLife Stadium.

Tim Boyle's interception caps another awful night for Jets offense

By Andrew Crane

In what will likely be his final pass of the night, Tim Boyle tossed an interception to Rasul Douglas — the cornerback's second pick of the evening — and will finish 7-of-14 for 33 yards and an interception.

His first drive started strong, when Boyle completed all three passes until Garrett Wilson's fumble. But he didn’t produce any touchdowns or field goals, and the Jets will finish with six points for the second time in three weeks.

On that final drive, the offense provided a glimpse at some of the changes Robert Saleh hinted at earlier in the week. Rookie running back Israel Abanikanda got his first carry and turned it into an 11-yard gain. Then, tight end Jeremy Ruckert caught a pass, and rookie Xavier Gipson was targeted later in the series, too.

Tyler Bass' fourth field goal extends Bills' lead

By Andrew Crane

Tyler Bass connected on his fourth field goal of the evening — this one from 50 yards — as the Bills' lead grew to 26 with just over five minutes remaining.

The Bills didn't throw the ball on that drive, instead relying on six running plays to drain the clock as the Jets inch closer to dropping to 4-6.

Tim Boyle's second drive ends with three-and-out

By Andrew Crane

The Jets’ offense didn’t do much better with Tim Boyle on that drive, either.

Boyle nearly threw an interception — it was called one by Jordan Poyer at first, before getting reversed after a review — and then took a sack on third down for a three-and-out. Gang Green still trails, 29-6, with 9:33 left in the fourth quarter.
