The Jets brought back a familiar face Tuesday, signing wide receiver Jeremy Kerley to a one-year deal.
Kerley visited the Jets on Tuesday and worked out for them. Kerley spent five years with the Jets after the team took him in the fifth round of the 2011 Draft. The team released him in 2016 and he went to the Lions and then the 49ers. San Francisco released Kerley over the weekend.
The 49ers signed him to a three, year $10.5 million deal in the offseason. The Jets need help at wide receiver with a room full of inexperienced players. Kerley also could be a punt returner for the Jets.
The Jets waived FB Julian Howsare to clear the roster spot for Kerley.
