The Jets and troubled cornerback Aaron Berry agreed to a two-year deal, according to his agent, Audie Attar.
Berry, who played for the Lions previously, is coming off a three-game suspension for violating the NFL’s personal conduct policy. Berry was arrested twice in Pennsylvania this summer.
The former undrafted free agent had a chance to be a starter for the Lions this season before his arrests led to his release.
Berry was arrested in June under suspicion of DUI and announced he would enter the league’s substance-abuse program. In July he was accused of pointing a gun at three people in a Harrisburg, Pa. parking lot. He was arrested on three charges of simple assault.
The Jets brought Berry in Friday for a visit along with several other cornerbacks as they try to fill the void left by Darrelle Revis’ season-ending ACL tear.
