GREEN BAY, Wis. — The Jets are for real.
This was not a win over a rookie quarterback. This was not a miraculous victory in the final minute. This was domination over a future Hall of Fame quarterback on the road and the Jets walked out of Lambeau Field on Sunday with a 27-10 statement win over the Packers.
The best part? They’re not satisfied.
“It’s a good win, but we want way more than this,” rookie running back Breece Hall said.
The Jets rode a dominant defense, made big plays on special teams and a second-half ground attack to pull off their third straight win, something they had not achieved since 2019.
It left the Lambeau faithful booing and Jets fans dreaming of a playoff run. The Jets are 4-2 for the first time since 2015 and are now 3-0 on the road this season. The loss ended a 15-game regular-season winning streak at Lambeau for the Packers.
The Jets defeated the Packers 27-10 in Sunday. APJets coach Robert Saleh beat his good friend and Packers coach Matt LaFleur and after the game tried to avoid anyone overreacting to the win.
“I’ve said it before, we’ve got to start expecting stuff like this,” Saleh said.
The game was punctuated by rookie cornerback Sauce Gardner wearing a cheesehead walking off the field, adding a little swagger to the victory.
“Running off the field with the cheese on my head, that was a crazy feeling right there,” Gardner said. “I’m never going to forget that.”

The Jets sacked him four times. Rodgers completed 26 of 41 passes for 246 yards and a touchdown and finished the game on the bench as Jordan Love replaced him with just over two minutes left to play.
“He was definitely frustrated,” defensive tackle Sheldon Rankins said of Rodgers. “That’s what we want to see. That’s our objective every week, to piss off every quarterback that we have to line up against in a smart, dominant, violent way. I think we were successful in doing that today.”
Quinnen Williams sacked Rodgers twice and was the best player on the field, also forcing a fumble and blocking a field goal.
Zach Wilson did not have a good day, but made a few crucial throws in the second half to get the Jets moving. Wilson only threw for 110 yards on 10 of 18 passing.
Hall had another monster game for the Jets. Jets fans were screaming “Breeeece” as he diced up the Packers’ defense in the fourth quarter. Hall had 116 yards and one touchdown on 20 carries.
Hall scored a 34-yard touchdown on the first play of the fourth quarter to put the Jets up 24-10. The play was an inside handoff that Hall was supposed to flip to Garrett Wilson, who was supposed to throw it to Braxton Berrios. Hall saw the defensive end coming up field and decided to keep the ball. He raced through the defense for the score and then did a Lambeau leap.

We’re lucky to have him. We love his mentality and love his ability. He just finds ways to make plays every week.”
There were questions about how legitimate the Jets were with their three wins coming against backup quarterbacks — Jacoby Brissett, Kenny Pickett and Skylar Thompson. But there can be no more questions after they rolled over Rodgers. This was also not like the win in Cleveland where the Jets had to get some crazy breaks to pull out the win in the final minute.
The Jets have backed up their words about no longer being the “same old Jets.” This is a team gaining confidence every week who believes they can play with anyone.

Getty Images“It’s just confirming a lot of what everyone in this locker room already believes — that we can be a great team,” Rankins said. “Furthermore, showing the rest of the world that we’re not just a team that you can write off. We’re not just a team that, ‘Oh, maybe they’ll be good in a few years.’ No, we’re coming to win right now.”
The two teams played to a 3-3 tie at halftime after a first half that featured as many combined punts — nine — as first downs.
The Jets’ offense woke up in the third quarter with Wilson hitting Corey Davis for a 41-yard gain and then Berrios scoring on a 20-yard reverse to give the Jets a 10-3 lead.
The Jets’ defense forced a punt on the Packers next series and rookie Micheal Clemons blocked Pat O’Donnell’s punt at the 20-yard line. Will Parks scooped the ball up and ran into the end zone for a 17-3 lead, stunning the Lambeau crowd.
Rodgers answered with a six-play, 75-yard drive that was aided by two Jets penalties on third downs. Rodgers hit Allen Lazard with a 25-yard touchdown to cut the lead to 17-10 with 2:35 left in the third quarter. Then, the Jets marched down the field with a couple of throws to tight ends and Hall finishing off the drive with the 34-yard touchdown to start the fourth quarter and give the Jets a 24-10 lead. From there, the Jets’ defense stopped the Packers on a fourth down and the offense ran six minutes off the clock to give the Jets the shocking win.
“It just shows how hungry we are,” Hall said. “I think it just shows that we’re trending upward. We played good football today but we’re not satisfied. I feel like a lot of people expected that it would be a surprise if we won this game, but we expected to come in and win this game.”
