The Jets have many tough decisions to make in the offseason and wide receiver Robby Anderson’s future is one of them.

Anderson is scheduled to be a free agent in March. During the first two months of the season, it looked like the Jets should just let him walk. But he has turned his year around over the past four games and now the Jets have to be strongly considering re-signing him.

Through his first 10 games, Anderson had 25 catches for 359 yards and two touchdowns. In the past four, he has 22 catches for 370 yards and two touchdowns.

“Offensively, one guy that I can say, Robby Anderson I’ve seen really make some huge strides this last month and I’ve seen him do some different things that he wasn’t necessarily doing earlier in the season consistently,” Jets coach Adam Gase said. “He’s really made some huge strides for us and I think that he’s a guy that’s really popped off on tape.”

The biggest difference in Anderson is his willingness to fight for the football and make contested catches. It is something the coaching staff has emphasized to him. Gase has done a good job of getting Anderson to run different routes. He is no longer just a deep threat. The final piece is Anderson and Sam Darnold look to have developed a chemistry that may have been delayed by Darnold’s illness.

Anderson likely will get $11-$14 million per year in free agency. He has had some off-field issues in the past, too. But Anderson’s play lately is going to make the Jets think long and hard about allowing him to walk.
