The Jets decided to keep people guessing during the last day of practice.

Looking through watery eyes — thanks to the strong wind on the practice field in Florham Park, N.J. — it wasn’t so easy to dictate whether what one was seeing was true.

Things looked off, and upon a closer look, there were tangible indications of a new edition of “Freaky Friday.”

If one were to look for Aaron Rodgers going through the motions of his warm-up stretches in his No. 8 jersey, you would instead see Jets safety Trey Dean sporting the signal-caller’s number.

Similarly, Marquiss Spencer was wearing Zach Wilson’s No. 2 jersey.

And these were only two of the many changes.

Among switches:

  • Breece Hall wore Nick Bawden’s No. 48
  • John Franklin-Myers was in Jordan Whitehead’s No. 3
  • Newly crowned team MVP Quincy Williams proudly dressed in Thomas Morstead’s No. 5
  • Jermaine Johnson had D.J. Reed’s No. 4.

The change-up might have been an attempt to let loose a little bit on the final practice day as the team’s disappointing 6-10 season nears its end.

Gang Green faces the Patriots on the road Sunday for what looks like it could be a winter wonderland of a finale, with Foxborough expecting snow and under a winter storm watch that day, per Fox Weather.

Rumors and speculation have swirled that it could be the last game head coach Bill Belichick coaches in New England, with the team at a 4-12 record heading into Week 18.

If the Jets do win, it will be their first victory against the Patriots since a Week 16 overtime thriller in 2015.
