Jets offensive lineman Alex Lewis has retired, The Post’s Brian Costello confirmed Wednesday.

The 29-year-old, who started at left guard the last two seasons but clashed with players and coaches, was placed on the exempt/left squad list earlier this month after suffering a head injury at practice.

Lewis was not permitted to sign with another team while on the list.

He was expected to serve as the backup to rookie Alijah Vera-Tucker this season.

Last season, Lewis butted heads with teammates and coaches, questioning their desire to win as they went 2-14, The Post previously reported.

But following the arrival of a new coaching staff, the veteran took a pay cut this offseason to remain with the team.

His salary was reduced from $5.8 million to $3 million and the final year of his contract was voided, making him eligible to become a free agent next offseason.
