Three things to watch when the Jets play the Falcons on Thursday night in their second preseason game.
Kicking it
The pressure is on Taylor Bertolet on Thursday. The new kicker has a few weeks to impress the Jets coaches, or they will be looking for his replacement. Bertolet signed with the team Sunday after Chandler Catanzaro’s surprise retirement.
In this corner
With Trumaine Johnson out with a hamstring injury and his replacement, undrafted free agent Kyron Brown also nursing a hamstring injury, the Jets are going to be tested at cornerback. Arthur Maulet is expected to start opposite Darryl Roberts with Brian Poole in the slot. Let’s see if they can slow Matt Ryan down.
Get them the damn ball
The starting offense should play into the second quarter, so there will be more opportunities for Sam Darnold to spread it around. Last week, Ty Montgomery, Chris Herndon and Jamison Crowder starred. Can he get Quincy Enunwa and Robby Anderson involved this week?
