It was, indeed, a day of euphoria for the Jets and their fans.

The message now is to enjoy the 34-16 walkover win against the dead-team-walking Broncos Sunday at MetLife Stadium, move on and validate this next Sunday against the Colts.

This is, in no way, meant to throw cold water on what the 2-3 Jets accomplished Sunday, ending a three-game losing streak that threatened to turn their season into garbage time before Halloween.

It is, however, meant to remind them about what happened a month ago in Detroit. Remember how you felt after Jets 48, Lions 17 on opening night?

You felt as euphoric as you did Sunday at MetLife, allowing your mind to explore the tantalizing possibilities for this young team and its promising rookie quarterback, Sam Darnold.

What followed — three consecutive losses while scoring a total of 41 points — was as forgettable as that opener was memorable.

So here we are again, analyzing a complete team victory — with the offense gashing the Denver defense for 512 yards, including a ridiculous 323 on the ground, rendering Broncos pass-rushing demon Von Miller invisible, and the defense, down two cornerbacks, keeping the Broncos out of the end zone when it counted most — wondering what’s next.

The 1-4 Colts are next up, Sunday at MetLife. Then the Vikings (2-2-1) come to MetLife on Oct. 21.

In the past two seasons, the Jets have produced just two streaks of two or more wins. They won three in a row last season and won two in a row in 2016.

“This is an opportunity for us to stack some wins, which is something we haven’t done this year,’’ left tackle Kelvin Beachum said. “Earlier in the year, we had the chance to rattle off a couple of wins and we didn’t do so. Now we have another opportunity to stack some wins. Enjoy this win, but also keep things in perspective.

“When you lose, you understand you have to work harder, but when you win, that same type of vigor and intensity has to happen for you and you have to work even harder than you did before.’’

There were some elements to this win that resembled the win in Detroit, where Darnold’s first NFL pass turned into a pick-six. Bilal Powell fumbled the ball away on the Jets second offensive play from scrimmage, leading to a 7-0 Denver lead. A missed 30-yard field-goal attempt by kicker Jason Myers was next.

Both were ominous signs, yet the Jets would go on to score 27 of the next 30 points.

“That shows that we’re growing as a team, that we’re becoming a tough football team,’’ receiver Quincy Enunwa said.

“We just stayed poised,’’ said right tackle Brandon Shell, who had a big say in silencing Miller. “We just believed in each other. Coach Bowles talked about it before the game when he said, ‘Just believe and trust the person next to you.’ ’’

Defensive tackle Steve McLendon said, “The guys in this locker room believe in us.’’
“Look at the acronym for ‘team’ — together everyone achieves more,’’ McLendon said. “That’s what we did today. We came out here and we played together and we played as a team. Our destiny is one team, one goal and that one goal is to win a championship. That’s our destiny.’’

Asked by a reporter if Sunday was a “statement’’ game, to his credit, Enunwa said, “I don’t want to say this was a statement, because we made a statement the first game and we didn’t continue that.

“This just kind of shows a glimpse of what we’re capable of doing,’’ Enunwa added. “The first game [in Detroit] was a glimpse, but we’ve got to build on these things and show what we’re capable of doing. This is a glimpse of what we can be. I’m excited for what the future looks like.’’

Added Shell: “This is how we want to play, but we’ve just got to keep it up. We’ve still got more ball to play. The best is yet to come.’’

Fair enough. Let’s see it, beginning next Sunday against a Colts team the Jets will be favored to defeat. Validate.
