The Jets will open the 2011 preseason Aug. 15 at Houston on ESPN’s “Monday Night Football,” the team announced Tuesday.

In Week 11 last regular season, Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez threw for 315 yards in a 30-27 victory over the Texans.

The Jets play host to the Cincinnati Bengals at New Meadowlands Stadium in Week 2 of the preseason. In Week 3, the Jets will be visitors in the stadium against the Giants, and in the preseason finale the Jets play host to the Philadelphia Eagles on Thursday night, Sept. 1.

The schedule depends on a resolution to the NFL lockout and new collective bargaining agreement

Last season, the Jets were 2-2 in preseason and went on to an 11-5 regular-season record. After knocking off the Indianapolis Colts and New England Patriots in the playoffs, the Jets lost to the Pittsburgh Steelers 24-19 in the AFC Championship.
