JETS OPEN SEASON IN TEXAS
The Rex Ryan era begins in Houston on Sept. 13 with the Jets’ season-opener against the Texans.
The team’s schedule, released last night, features two games in prime time — against Chad Pennington and the Dolphins on Monday, Oct. 12 and against the Bills in Toronto on Thursday, Dec. 3.
Laveranues Coles returns as a member of the Bengals in the season finale on Jan. 3. That game will be the final regular-season game at Giants Stadium.
Ryan’s first taste of the Patriots rivalry comes Sept. 20 at Giants Stadium, and the trip to Foxborough is Nov. 22. The Jets first view of Terrell Owens in a Bills uniform comes on Oct. 18 at home.
According to last year’s records, the Jets have the seventh toughest schedule this season. They’ll face five teams who made the playoffs (the Dolphins twice).
