The Jets released veteran tight end Bubba Franks today.

Franks re-signed with the Jets in March, but the team moved on today. Franks was with the team one season — catching six passes for 47 yards in eight games (four starts). After the emergence of rookie Dustin Keller last season, Franks played in two of the Jets’ final 10 games. Keller was already slated to be the team’s starting tight end this season.

Franks played the first nine seasons of his career with the Packers before signing with Gang Green last season.
