DETROIT — Linebacker Bart Scott called out the Lions as a dirty team following the Jets’ 23-20 overtime victory yesterday.
“They’re the dirtiest team I’ve played against,” Scott said. “I swear to God I hope I see them again.”
Many of the Jets players agreed with Scott.
“There were a lot of guys taking a lot of extra shots,” Jets guard Matt Slauson said. “It wasn’t just them, it was us, too. Both teams came in with a chip on their shoulder. We were ready to throw down for 65 minutes or whatever it ended up being.”
The teams combined for 22 penalties (11 each) for 201 yards, including three chop blocks called on the Lions and three personal fouls called on the Jets.
