The Jets swung for big upside picks early in the draft and they did it again in the fifth round, too.

With their only selection of that round (No. 158 overall), they went for Virginia cornerback Bryce Hall, adding depth at a position of need. Hall is an intriguing prospect, a highly-regarded defensive back who may have been a first or second-round pick had he not needed ankle surgery in October that limited him to just six games as a senior.

As a junior in 2018, he led the country with 22 pass breakups and has good size for a corner, at 6-foot-1 and 202 pounds. Hall also followed a pattern of high-character selections by general manager Joe Douglas, the fourth straight team captain he picked.
