Three takeaways from the Jets’ 31-27 preseason win over the Giants on Sunday in the Snoopy Bowl at MetLife Stadium:
Feisty defense
The Jets’ starting defense only played two series but they were flying around and made the Giants backups look bad. Carl Lawson and Quinnen Williams were particularly active and the Jets defenders had several big hits.

The Jets’ starting offensive line played together for the first time in the preseason and looked rusty. They did not do a great job of protecting Joe Flacco and the holes for the run game were nonexistent. It was particularly troubling because the Giants did not play their starters.
Mimsy moment
WR Denzel Mims requested a trade on Thursday and then went out and had a day on Sunday. He had seven catches for 102 yards and a 29-yard touchdown. Now, general manager Joe Douglas must make the decision whether to move Mims or hold onto him.
