Despite the ugliness, the Jets still had a chance.

And they had Aaron Rodgers marching them down the field with a chance to engineer a touchdown drive late.

But Rodgers’ third interception of the game ended the Jets’ hopes late in a 23-17 loss in London.

The Jets fell to 2-3.

Quincy Williams: Jets need to 'take accountability' after loss to Vikings

By Ethan Sears

Jets linebacker Quincy Williams was not in high spirits after his team lost 23-17 to the Vikings.

"People gotta start taking accountability," Williams told SNY. "People get tired of hearing the same thing every week."

With the Jets, it's been more like the same thing for a few years now as poor quarterback play repeatedly derailed them. Despite having Aaron Rodgers under center, it's been the same thing for two straight weeks as the offense struggled against the Broncos before Rodgers threw three interceptions against the Vikings on Sunday.

"People gotta start taking accountability. People get tired of hearing the same thing every week.

Mike Francesa: Jets should immediately fire Robert Saleh and Nate Hackett after loss to Vikings

By Ethan Sears

It took less than an hour after the Jets' loss to the Vikings for the calls for heads to begin.

Former WFAN host Mike Francesa said on his podcast reacting to the 23-17 defeat that coach Robert Saleh and offensive coordinator Nate Hackett should be on the chopping block.

"It all leads to the same place. You put the offense in the hands of a man [Hackett] who is completely inept," Francesa said, as chronicled by @BackAftaThis on X. "I know that despite his lousy record and despite the fact that he has taken this team right down the shoot, you can just see it. And I'm telling you, if I were the owner, Saleh wouldn't be the coach anymore. In-season. I can't look at it anymore. I just can't watch the same garbage week in and week out.

"I wouldn't touch the defensive coordinator, I wouldn't touch the staff but I would get rid of Saleh cause he's not a head coach anyway. If he wants to be defensive coordinator he can stay. He can't be the head coach, He can't run the team.

"Because there has to be a new order for this team, there has to be an accountability for this team, and I would immediately fire the offensive coordinator [Nate Hackett]. Immediately.

"Goodbye! Enough already. I don't care what Rodgers would say. Oh really? You like throwing three interceptions? You like getting hit on every play-action fake? You like the fact that your career isn't gonna look like the same career if you keep this guy? You're out. I'm making the decision, you're not."

Aaron Rodgers has low ankle sprain, says performance was 'below my standard' against Vikings

By Ethan Sears

Aaron Rodgers didn't shy away from self-criticism after a rough performance in a 23-17 loss to the Vikings, but more concerning for the Jets is the status of Rodgers' ankle.

Rodgers told reporters that he has a low ankle sprain, though it's not clear whether that happened on Sunday or was something he'd been dealing with.

Rodgers limped off the field after a third-quarter sack, but quickly returned to the game without missing a play. He had been dealing with knee issues, which led the Jets to activate third-stringer Adrian Martinez for Sunday's game.

Though Rodgers made it through the whole game, he struggled for much of it, throwing a trio of picks, one of which was returned for a touchdown and another of which ended the game.

"That was below my standard," Rodgers told reporters.

Saleh: Jets run game "clearly not good enough" against Vikings

By Ethan Sears

Robert Saleh saw what the rest of us did.

The Jets could not run the ball against the Vikings, compiling just 36 yards on the ground in a 23-17 loss to Minnesota.

"The run game is clearly not good enough," Saleh told reporters in London.

It's the second straight week and third time in five games that the Jets have been held under 100 yards rushing, which should set off alarm bells for a team that expected to see Breece Hall take the next step into superstardom this season.

Right now, that looks a long way off.

Robert Saleh explains decision to go for it on fourth down in second quarter against Vikings

By Ethan Sears

Jets coach Robert Saleh told reporters in London that the team went for it on fourth down instead of kicking a field goal in the second quarter of their loss because they thought they could get two yards and didn't want to settle for three points.

Braelon Allen was ultimately stuffed for no gain, meaning the Jets instead got no points.

Had the Jets kicked a field goal, they would have been within three points when driving at the end of the game -- potentially changing the dynamic, as a field goal would have tied it. Instead, needing a touchdown, Aaron Rodgers threw his third interception of the game to seal a 23-17 loss.

Robert Saleh says 'it's early' after Jets fall to 2-3

By Ethan Sears

Jets coach Robert Saleh isn't hitting the panic button, even as noise around his job status will surely grow louder after a 23-17 loss to the Vikings in which the offense struggled for much of the day.

"It's early," Saleh told reporters in London after being asked his message to fans. "We're five games in. We'd like to be better. We have a long way to go."

Indeed there is still time for the Jets to turn things around. But with the Bills on the schedule next week, that needs to happen very fast. Otherwise, who knows whether Saleh will get the chance to turn it around.

Aaron Rodgers throws third interception of the day to seal crushing loss to Vikings

By Ethan Sears

The Jets had the chance to win the game.

The Jets had Aaron Rodgers, on the edge of the red zone, with under a minute to go.

That is why Rodgers is here.

But instead of producing a go-ahead touchdown, another apparent miscommunication with a receiver cost Rodgers his third interception of the day and cost the Jets the game.

Mike Williams never hot his head around as Stephon Gilmore picked off Rodgers to seal a 23-17 win for the Vikings in London.

Rodgers threw the ball 54 times as the Jets never got anything resembling a run game going, but completed just 29 of them with more interceptions (3) than touchdowns (2).

The questions around the offense are not going away and the season might be slipping away with the Jets now at 2-3 and the same problems cropping up this week as last.

Vikings settle for field goal, extend lead to 23-17

By Ethan Sears

Aaron Rodgers will have the ball in his hands with 3:07 and the chance to win the game.

The Jets held Minnesota to a field goal, with Will Reichard hitting from 41 yards out, and now face a six-point deficit and the chance for a game-winning drive.

Rodgers has not played his best today, but he can make Jets fans forget about it if he drives down the field for a touchdown here.

Jets within three points after Garrett Wilson TD

By Ethan Sears

It hasn't been pretty but the Jets could still win this game.

Garrett Wilson's one-yard catch pulled them within three points as the Jets took advantage of Sam Darnold's interception to make it 20-17 with just over six minutes left in the game.

Their defense has played exceptionally well and the offense might be able to do just enough to get the Jets over the line.

Stephon Gilmore committed pass interference on Wilson on third-and-goal, setting up the first-down throw for six. Aaron Rodgers also hit Mike Williams for 18 yards and Wilson for 10 earlier in the drive, which was one of the better stretches for the offense all day.

Brandon Eichols picks off Sam Darnold to give Jets fourth-quarter boost

By Ethan Sears

That's the Sam Darnold the Jets know.

The Vikings quarterback sailed a throw on third-and-long and Brandon Eichols was right there to pick it off, giving the Jets the ball with good field position and 9:47 to go in the game. It's still a 10-point deficit to make up, but the Jets won't get a better chance to start than right now.

Jets go three-and-out yet again

By Ethan Sears

The Jets still can't get anything going on offense.

After Aaron Rodgers was sacked on second down, with John Simpson whiffing in pass protection, the Jets failed to convert on third-and-long and punted yet again.

The offensive line has been brutal today, giving up three sacks and struggling in the run game. Little else is going right either as the Jets have suffered an incredibly frustrating afternoon in London.
