Jets starting linebacker Darron Lee was a surprise inactive for Sunday’s game with the Chiefs.
Lee is healthy. It appears this is disciplinary. Jets coach Todd Bowles is expected to address the situation after the game.
The Jets took Lee in the first round of the 2016 draft out of Ohio State. Lee has had an up-and-down first two seasons. Lee’s off-field behavior came under scrutiny in the spring after a video surfaced from a concert of him yelling at a woman whom Bowles later identified as Lee’s girlfriend. Teammate Leonard Williams picked Lee up and pushed him away from the woman. No charges were filed, and the NFL cleared Lee of wrongdoing, but the video was widely circulated.
Lee is second on the team with 86 tackles. He also has three sacks and two forced fumbles.
