Penalties, fumbles send Jets to 0-4 start

The Jets committed 13 penalties and coughed up three fumbles Monday night to open the Aaron Glenn era with an 0-4 record after a sloppy 27-21 loss to the previously winless Dolphins in Miami.
The Jets, who will face the Cowboys at home in Week 5, managed 197 rushing yards, including a 43-yard scoring run by quarterback Justin Fields.
Garrett Wilson hauled in a late TD reception from Fields to pull the Jets within one score with under two minutes remaining, but the onsides kick failed.
Former Giants tight end Darren Waller caught two TD passes from Tua Tagovailoa for the Dolphins, who lost receiver Tyreek Hill with what appeared to be a serious knee injury.

Justin time, Fields scramble keeps Jets alive

Justin Fields eluded a sack on 4th-and-1, and he turned it into a weaving 43-yard TD run to pulled the Jets back within one score at 17-10 with 9:23 to go in the third. It's his 3rd rushing touchdown of the season.

Darren Waller again, it's now 17-3

Tua just flipped his second TD toss to Waller, a 9-yard hookup for a 14-point Miami lead 3:27 into the third.

Tyreek Hill carted off

Another tough injury apparently, as Miami star WR Tyreek Hill is carted off the field early in the third quarter with what looked like a left-knee injury. He had six catches for 67 yards.

Jets fumble again to open the second half

A third turnover now for the Jets on the second-half kickoff, as Isaiah WIlliams coughs it up, recovered by Miami at the Jets' 36. Yeesh.

Folk makes looooong FG, Jets on the board at the half

Jets kicker Nick Folk nailed a career-long 58-yard FG as time expired in the second, as the Jets move within 10-3 despite two fumbles and five flags for 31 yards. They will get the ball to open the third.

Jets force a three-and-out

The Fields fumble wasn't costly on the scoreboard, as the Dolphins are forced to punt for the first time with just under 2:00 to play before intermission.
