Joe Judge is getting a chance to rehab his image in familiar territory.
The fired Giants head coach is returning to the Patriots as an offensive assistant, the team announced Tuesday afternoon.

Icon Sportswire via Getty ImagesJudge, 40, spent eight years on Bill Belichick’s staff in New England — winning three Super Bowls — before the Giants hired him as their head coach in 2020. He won two national championships on Nick Saban’s Alabama staff before joining the Patriots in 2012 as an assistant special teams coach.
The Giants fired Judge in early January after two losing seasons, a day after general manager Dave Gettleman retired ignominiously after four seasons. Judge went 10-23 in his two years in New York.
