In 2014, Johnny Manziel boldly strode across the NFL Draft stage at Radio City Music Hall, flashing his trademark “money” sign after becoming the first-round pick of the Cleveland Browns.
On draft night 2016, Manziel sidled up to a bar in Columbus, Ohio — an unemployed 20-something facing charges for allegedly assaulting an ex-girlfriend, a problem drinker facing concerns for his safety — and perhaps caught a glimpse of the action on TV. He was pre-gaming a Justin Bieber concert.
Bar patrons snapped candid photos of Manziel. He isn’t seen with alcohol; in one snap, he hovers over a plate of onion rings.

Then it was on to the Schottenstein Center, where — posing happily with his VIP sticker — he completed a Bieber back-to-back after attending Wednesday night’s show in Cleveland.
It’s unclear if Manziel stayed at the bar long enough to see former Baylor wide receiver Corey Coleman, his alternate-reality teammate, get drafted by the Browns at No. 15.
