The Raiders’ future is built around this month’s draft, and it may not be going too well.

According to an NFL Network report, coach Jon Gruden and general manager Mike Mayock sent all their scouts home and they will not be back before next week’s draft begins on April 25.

“The belief is they don’t know who to trust and wanted to clear the room,” reporter Ian Rapoport tweeted.

This feels like a worry given the draft is Thursday night and the team has three first-round draft picks. The Raiders have their own pick at No. 4, the Bears’ pick at No. 24 and the Cowboys’ pick at No. 27. The latter two selections came in via trades that sent Khalil Mack to Chicago and Amari Cooper to Dallas.

Now with the Raiders on the verge of turning those coveted picks into players, fears that Gruden’s rebuild could be ill-fated are again gaining momentum.
