He’s seen this movie before, but this time, it had a different ending.

Bills quarterback Josh Allen sent Twitter into a frenzy Sunday during the AFC Championship game over his one-word reaction to the Bengals losing the coin toss.

“Pain,” Allen wrote in tweet that was retweeted more than 55,000 times.

Allen and the Bills saw their Super Bowl dreams evaporate in a divisional round loss to the Chiefs when Buffalo lost the coin toss heading into overtime. Patrick Mahomes and Kansas City’s offense touched the ball once and scored a touchdown, ending an epic duel between the AFC powerhouses.

“Josh Allen just threw up watching that coin toss,” wrote Twitter user @BIGPLAY_dave in response to Allen.

“Josh Allen is all of us,” tweeted @BillsRunDeep2

Twitter offered their condolences to Allen on Sunday, moments before Bengals rookie Evan McPherson nailed a 31-yard field goal to send Cincinnati to the Super Bowl. Mahomes was intercepted on the Chiefs first possession over overtime and the Bengals went on to win 27-24.

“Not as much pain as Chief’s kingdom is in,” @mike_otto88 wrote to Allen after the games was over.
