In a scene seemingly out of “The Godfather” – but with a better ending – Raiders running back Josh Jacobs’ son, Braxton, may have saved his grandfather’s life.
Braxton, just 6-years old, called 911 on Tuesday when he found his grandfather, Marty Jacobs, experiencing chest pain, according to NFL Network. He would end up having emergency heart surgery on Wednesday and remains in intensive care. Josh has spent most of the week at home in Tulsa attending to the matter.

His father explained he wanted to watch his son win the rushing crown and Josh Jacobs was able to book a private jet to Las Vegas and arrived late on Friday.
Jacobs, 24, is in a contract year and leads the league with 1,653 rushing yards after rushing for 45 more yards on 17 carries in the Raiders’ 31-13 loss to the Chiefs on Saturday in Las Vegas.
Derrick Henry, who ran for 109 yards on 30 carries in the Titans’ 20-16 loss to the Jaguars, is second in the league with 1,538 rushing yards. Cleveland Browns running back Nick Chubb, who is third in the league with 1,448 rushing yards, will need 206 yards to surpass Jacobs.
Safe to say, his father, Marty, will be happy if Jacobs runs away with the rushing title. But it’s Josh’s son, Braxton, who is the real star this week.
