New team means a new jersey and new number.

But what is Kadarius Toney now going to do with what’s underneath that jersey?

After the Giants traded him on Thursday to the Chiefs in exchange for a compensatory third-round pick and sixth-round pick, Toney posted a picture of his new threads on his Instagram.

The post of his new Chiefs jersey, with his name on the back, featured the No. 19 and was captioned “BLESSINGS KOME IN MANY WAYS.”

The No. 19 would represent a departure from the No. 89 he’s worn throughout his career and time with the Giants since being selected with the No. 20-overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. Of course, Toney has “89” in large numbers tattooed on his back with his last name in large letters above them to resemble the back of a jersey. In between and all around the numbers, Toney has the New York City skyline and Statue of Liberty tattooed as well, showcasing the new ink last offseason in social media posts that have since been deleted.

Toney also can be seen in pictures with the Giants logo tattooed on the inside of his right arm.

Before he was traded, Toney was limited to just two games this season amid two separate hamstring injuries after a disappointing rookie year last season. Despite briefly flashing game-changing ability, Toney’s recorded just 42 receptions for 420 yards and notably no touchdowns in 12 games as a pro.

The end of Toney’s Giants tenure reportedly grew contentious. After news broke of the deal, Toney posted, then deleted, a tweet saying “That Joke Would’ve Been Funny If I was Actually Hurt Still Lol… Irrelevant people don’t get updates,” seemingly suggesting he is not actually injured. The Post’s Paul Schwartz reported that while the Giants planned to have Toney practice Thursday and possibly play on Sunday, Toney was unhappy that he was held out of practice on Wednesday by the team.

He has not played since Week 2.

The Giants clearly did not see Toney as a part of their long-term vision, and now he – and his tattoos – are in Kansas City.
