The 2024 NFL season will open with a showdown between two of the AFC’s biggest powerhouses.
Patrick Mahomes and the Super Bowl champion Chiefs will take on Lamar Jackson and the Ravens on Thursday, Sept. 5, at Arrowhead Stadium, the NFL announced Monday.

The Ravens closed out the regular season at 13-4 to earn the AFC’s No. 1 seed entering the postseason.
The Chiefs, the conference’s No. 3 seed after an 11-6 regular season, became road warriors in the playoffs, knocking off the Bills in Buffalo in the divisional round to reach the AFC Championship in Baltimore.

“You don’t take it for granted,” Mahomes said postgame. “You never know many you are going to get to, or if you are going to get to any. It really is special, but the job’s not done. Our job now is to … try to get that ring.”
Kickoff is set for 8:20 p.m. on NBC and Peacock.
