Whatever concern there was is now gone.
Le’Veon Bell showed up in Florham Park on Monday for mandatory minicamp, and he seems more than happy to be there. In a video posted to Twitter by the Jets, Bell is excitable and ready to go.
“Y’all see it? Yeah. We here, baby,” Bell says. “Two-six. We here. And it’s official.”
Bell’s start with the Jets had been tumultuous, as The Post reported coach Adam Gase wasn’t fully on board with Bell’s four-year, $52 million contract for monetary reasons, with other outlets saying Gase didn’t want the running back at all. Gase later denied all reports.
Bell skipped most of the Jets’ voluntary workouts, but with minicamp practices slated for Tuesday, that all seems to be in the past.
“Le’Veon Bell is a great player,” Gase said late last month. “He is a good person. He’s been in constant contact with me. I enjoyed my interaction with him when he was here, when he came in on his visit for his physical, when we signed him, when he was here for the beginning of phase one. He texts me all the time. All the stuff you get on Instagram, I get it first. That’s how I know what he’s doing.”
It seems the text updates will no longer be necessary. Now, Gase can simply watch in person.
