The Giants go into Sunday’s game sitting at 2-7 and in the cellar of the NFC East…yet still alive for a playoff spot. 2020 continues to not make much sense and make the rules up as it goes along. In the words of one of the great TV shows ever “Whose Line Is it Anyway”…everything is made up and the points don’t matter. Big Blue will take on the Eagles on Sunday at MetLife Stadium, a few weeks after losing a 22-21 heartbreaker in Philly. They now look for revenge and to move closer to the 3-4-1 Eagles. To preview the big game and get into everything in Giants land, we bring you a brand spankin’ new episode of your favorite Giants podcast “Blue Rush” with two-time Super Bowl champion Lawrence Tynes and Paul Schwartz.

We get the show rolling with our “In The Paper” segment as Sarah McCrory and I dive into the biggest headlines with Big Blue this week and get reactions from Paul and Tynesie. We start with the Paul Schwartz vs. Joe Judge fight night that we have been waiting for. Ok, that’s a bit dramatic…but we do play the audio of Judge shooting down Paul’s question of Daniel Jones not making enough plays aggressively and then shooting down Paul questioning Jones’ tentativeness. The guys get into the developing QB and him needing to step up and make plays.

Next up, what will Golden Tate’s role be on Sunday and moving forward the rest of the season? He was benched last week after his “throw me the damn ball” antics.

Tynes salivates over Matt Peart game film. How will this rotating offensive line work out and how impressive has the rookie offensive tackle been?

We wrap up the opening segment getting into Giants-Eagles Sunday and making our predictions. Can the Giants get within a half game of the division? The guys are not very confident, considering the Eagles have reinforcements in Miles Sanders, Alshon Jeffery and offensive linemen returning.

In this week’s edition of “Tynes Take,” he has a message for the Dave Gettleman haters. Tynes likes many of the guys Gettleman has brought in, especially on defense. He is a strong evaluator of talent and has been part of organizations that have got to several Super Bowls as a scout, GM and Director of Pro Personnel. The “fire Gettleman” people need to settle down and let him do his thing this season and see what they have.

Former Giants running back, two-time Super Bowl champion and the franchise’s all-time touchdown leader Brandon Jacobs then joins the show. Jacobs talks about coaching high school football in Georgia, his coaching inspirations and his son being a force on the offensive line and maybe a future Giant one day. Jacobs also gets into the earth, wind and fire backfield with him, Ahmad Bradshaw and Derrick Ward and what made them all work. He also reveals he has never listened to “Earth, Wind & Fire,” which is a little alarming. Jacobs breaks down the current Giants team, the up-and-down play from Daniel Jones and the special teams being the bright spot. Jacobs describes barreling over Charles Woodson in the NFC Championship Game in Green Bay in 2008 and why he wanted to take him out of the game. No. 27 also gets into learning from Tiki Barber in his first few seasons before taking over and why he still felt like a Giant in his miserable year in San Francisco with the 49ers.
