How fun is this Giants team right now? It’s hard to not root for this Joe Judge-led squad in the midst of a thrilling playoff race in the NFC East. After a 1-7 start, Big Blue has won four straight games to get themselves in first place in the division at 5-7. It’s going to be a heck of a battle in these final four weeks with the Washington Football Team. There is a chance the G-Men will have to go without Daniel Jones for a second straight game Sunday, but maybe not?
To talk about Jones’ status, preview the matchup with the Cardinals and chat with a rookie revelation on defense, we present to you a new episode of the “Blue Rush” podcast with Lawrence Tynes and Paul Schwartz.
In The Paper Segment with Tynes, Schwartz, Jake Brown and Sarah McCrory:
- Will Daniel Jones play on Sunday or will Colt McCoy start again? The guys talk about what Joe Judge said this week and whether they expect Jones to return from his strained right hamstring.
- Blake Martinez’s back injury and whether he will play Sunday. He wears the green dot helmet, being 1-on-1 with Patrick Graham. Logan Ryan being “Cyborg part 2” and getting the green dot helmet if Martinez does not play.
- NFC East standings getting intriguing. Will Washington win the division? Cowboys getting flexed out of “Sunday Night Football” for the first time for Giants-Browns.
- Giants-Cardinals game preview. Do the Giants make it five straight wins?
Schwartz’s Story: Paul gives his tribute to the late Ray Perkins, the former Giants head coach that passed away on Wednesday. Perkins was a pivotal part of the Giants turnaround in 1981, taking them to the playoffs for the first time in 17 years. Perkins played a major role in making Bill Parcells, Bill Belichick and Romeo Crennel the coaches they would become.
You Got Mail: Schwartz and Tynes respond to a voicemail from a listener on how the Giants are going to spread the wealth in free agency. Do the Giants sign Leonard Williams for the long run? Does Dalvin Tomlinson have to get left out?
