It looks as if the Giants will get back their most dynamic weapon on offense, as rookie wide receiver Malik Nabers was on the field Wednesday for practice.
Nabers was wearing a red non-contact jersey, which is standard operating procedure for players working through concussion protocol.
Nabers suffered a concussion in Week 4, a loss to the Cowboys. He missed the past two games and was unable to get on the field for practice during that time. This is a sign of progress.

Unless Nabers experiences a setback, the expectation is he will clear concussion protocol and make his return for Sunday’s game against the Eagles at MetLife Stadium.
“He’s better, which is a good thing,’’ Daboll said. “So, we’ll see. We’ll go through [Wednesday]. I’m optimistic, but I’m not going to push anything. That type of injury you want to be smart with. But he is doing much better and it’ll be good to have him out here at practice.’’
Despite missing two games, Nabers leads the Giants in receptions (35), receiving yards (386) and receiving touchdowns (three).
Malik Nabers leads the Giants in receptions and receiving yards. Robert Sabo for NY PostRunning back Devin Singletary, who missed the last two games with a strained groin, was also able to return to practice. In his place, rookie Tyrone Tracy ran for 129 yards in the victory in Seattle and 50 yards in the loss to the Bengals.
These additions to the offense are needed, with the news that stud left tackle Andrew Thomas is gone for the season after undergoing Lisfranc surgery Wednesday on his left foot.
This is a potentially frightening possibility for the Giants: They could be facing old friend Saquon Barkley and the Eagles without their three top defensive linemen.
They already are without Kayvon Thibodeaux, who is on injured reserve following wrist surgery. On Wednesday, Dexter Lawrence (hip) and Brian Burns (groin) did not practice and Daboll expressed concern about their availability for this weekend.
Burns last week was limited in practice with a groin issue but he was able to play 45 of the 53 snaps on defense in the 17-7 loss to the Bengals. It looked as if he were hurting afterwards, though, and he indicated he exacerbated the groin injury.
“I’m not going to get into whether I think they’ll practice [Thursday], they’re day-to-day,’’ Daboll said of Burns and Lawrence.
Both players said they will play on Sunday.
“I’m good — I’m where I’m at after every week … just resting,’’ Lawrence said.
Burns said he has been dealing with this groin issue since early in the season.
“Just something I got to fight through,’’ Burns said. “You don’t want it to get worse and you don’t want it to linger the rest of the season. They put together a plan to get me to Sunday so just following what I got to do.’’
Asked if he were confident he will be on the field, Burns said, “Yeah, I’m playing.’’
Punter Jamie Gillan (hamstring) remains out. Matt Haack was signed last week and made his Giants debut, averaging 46.8 yards on his four punts against the Bengals.
