A day after Rex Ryan jokingly acted like his brother wanted to put a bounty on him, Eric Mangini joined the “hit” parade.

In response to Ryan’s comments regarding his own recent weight loss, the former Jets coach backhandedly complimented his successor on his weight battle.

“I think everyone in New York is happy about that,” Mangini said, “except maybe Macy’s losing one of their floats.”

In a press conference yesterday, Ryan dressed up as twin brother Rob, Cleveland’s defensive coordinator, and claimed he wanted to issue a bounty on the Jets head coach, “but he’s small right now. It would be hard to hit that kind of target.”

This summer Ryan underwent weight-loss surgery, essentially making sure the biggest part of his body was his mouth.

Ryan and the 6-2 Jets, tied for the best record in the NFL, should be thanking Mangini and the 3-5 Browns, who head into this week’s matchup after a 34-14 trouncing of the New England Patriots.

Former Browns wide receiver Braylon Edwards has been itching to take a shot at the team that traded him away last season.

After last Sunday’s win over the Lions, Edwards set his sights on the Browns, tweeting “And before I take off and forget, all you Cleveland Browns fans, 17 is coming back and you better bring ya damn popcorn.”

Rex Ryan said he’s noticed that Edwards is excited for this week’s game.

“Watching him on the practice field I’d say he’s pretty amped up,” Ryan said.
