The Bills got some unwelcome injury news on Thursday.
The team announced that star linebacker Matt Milano is out indefinitely after tearing his bicep in practice.
“An unfortunate situation,” head coach Sean McDermott told reporters on Thursday.
“[Matt’s] got a good family behind him that’s going to support him, teammates that are going to support him, as well as the coaching staff and entire football organization.”
Bills linebacker Matt Milano is out indefinitely with a torn bicep. APESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that the team hopes he will be able to return in December.
McDermott added that Milano, 30, suffered the injury while working on a drill on a tackling bag.
It is a rough break for Milano, who suffered a season-ending leg injury during a Week 5 game against the Jaguars last season.
“When you know the person, you know this is not going to beat or keep Matt Milano down,” McDermott said. “He stayed in Buffalo all summer to get back off the leg injury, and now this happens. It’s an unfortunate set of circumstances, but again, I know he’s going to handle it well.”
Milano had been a first-team All-Pro and Pro Bowler during the 2022 season.
Second-year linebacker Dorian Williams is the next man up on the linebacker depth chart at for Buffalo.
It’s another season that comes with high expectations for star QB Josh Allen and the Bills as they have won four straight AFC East titles.
The Bills’ over/under this season is set at 10.5, with the over at +122 and the under juiced to -150, according to the latest odds on FanDuel.
They are +165 to win the AFC East and +1500 to win the Super Bowl.
