As the New York Giants closed the curtain on the Eli Manning era Tuesday, a certain Daniel Jones fan welcomed the news of the changing of the guard.
Jones’ girlfriend, Ella Bonafede, posted a screenshot on Instagram of the rookie quarterback, who will start Sunday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, with a sweet “love you” message.
InstagramA fellow Duke University athlete, Bonafede, who played lacrosse for the Blue Devils, celebrated her boyfriend’s much-maligned draft night back in April, when the Giants selected Jones with the sixth overall pick.
“So unbelievably proud of you Daniel, I cannot wait to be cheerin’ you on in NY… Lets Go Giants!❣️” she posted on Instagram at the time.
Bonafede graduated from Duke this past spring and later celebrated Jones’ 22nd birthday with a special note.
“Smile kid, it’s your birthday!!! 22 looks good on you,” she gushed in May.
Jones hasn’t shared many details about his relationship with Bonafede. However, the 6-foot-5 signal-caller has made his love for the Giants known to his 119,000 followers.
“Always a great day to be a Giant! #GiantsPride,” Jones wrote in June.
With his biggest test ahead, Jones at least has the comfort of knowing that Bonafede has his back.
