The Jets are ready for primetime.
With the acquisition of quarterback Aaron Rodgers from the Packers expected to be finalized this week, the Jets are going to be a lot more heavily featured in standalone windows this season.
Mike North, the NFL’s VP of Broadcast Planning, recently appeared on Audacy’s “It’s Always Gameday In Buffalo” podcast and revealed that the league was drawing up its schedule under the assumption that the trade will happen.
“All signs seem to indicate that Aaron Rodgers is going to be the quarterback of the Jets and as such – obviously they play the Bills twice, they’ve got an incredible schedule next year they play Kansas City, they play Dallas, they play Philly,” North said.
“I mean if Aaron Rodgers is their quarterback we’re going to do something with those games. If Aaron Rodgers isn’t the quarterback of the Jets we’re going to do something with those games but maybe not as much.

If we get through the draft and there’s any kind of indication that it may not happen, we might hedge a little bit and kind of shift some of our focus – not entirely. It won’t necessarily be a start from scratch, but it might be a pullback just a little.”
Although we know every team’s opponents for the 2023 season, the dates and windows of the games have not been announced yet.
With Rodgers as the Jets quarterback, the increased attention on the team means that the Jets will play more frequently in standalone primetime windows, or in the feature matchup on late Sunday afternoon on the second half of doubleheaders that alternate between CBS and Fox.
