Adoree’ Jackson was set to visit the Giants’ facility on Sunday, but Jabrill Peppers attempted to recruit the free-agent cornerback himself.
“@AdoreeKnows You know what to do next brudda!” the Giants safety wrote Saturday on Twitter of his fellow 2017 first-round pick.
The 25-year-old Jackson was scheduled to stay in New Jersey until Monday night before heading to Philadelphia to meet with the Eagles, according to ESPN.
Considering the Giants are in the market for an outside cornerback to start opposite James Bradberry, Jackson is a potential candidate. The USC product also fits coach Joe Judge’s preference to add younger players with an upside.
Jackson, who was the 18th pick and doubles as a kick returner, missed the first 13 games of the 2020 season with a knee injury. He was able to come back for the final three games of the regular season, in which the Illinois native combined for nine solo tackles.
In four NFL seasons, Jackson has 200 tackles, 33 pass deflections, two interceptions, three forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries.
The Titans picked up Jackson’s fifth-year option, but opted to release him last week in order to sign former Giants starting cornerback Janoris Jenkins. If Jackson had been on Tennessee’s roster Wednesday, his contract would’ve become fully guaranteed, but the Titans saved $10 million in salary cap space by cutting him.
