Mason Rudolph has been punished by the NFL for his role in the Myles Garrett melee.
The Steelers quarterback was fined $50,000 Saturday for unsportsmanlike conduct, according to NFL Network, a week after he was hit on the head with his helmet by Garrett during an ugly brawl near the end of the Browns’ win.
Rudolph and the defensive end were wrestling on the field following a sack before Garrett went off.
Garrett immediately was suspended indefinitely, at minimum the rest of the regular season and playoffs. He appealed the suspension this week and claimed Rudolph used a racial slur as a defense; however, the penalty was upheld and the NFL “found no evidence” Rudolph used such language.
Rudolph, 24, is in the second year of a four-year, $3.9 million contract.
Other players will be and have been fined for leaving the bench area during the fight, according to NFL Network.
