Lions tight end T.J. Hockenson is going from last to first in the NFC North.

Detroit is trading the 25-year-old Hockenson to the Vikings ahead of Tuesday afternoon’s NFL trade deadline, along with a 2023 fourth-round pick and a conditional 2024 fourth-round pick.

Minnesota, who is currently the division leader at 6-1, will send a 2023 second-round pick and a 2024 third-round pick to Detroit in return.

Hockenson was selected eighth overall out of Iowa by the Lions in the 2019 NFL Draft. He played in 12 games last season, recording 61 receptions for 395 yards and four touchdowns.

Through seven games this season, Hockenson has logged 26 receptions for 395 yards and three touchdowns.

The Lions, who are in their second season under head coach Dan Campbell, are currently 1-6.
