The first NFL Sunday has been chalk full of entertainment.

Caleb Williams got his first NFL win with the Chicago Bears in a defense and special teams show. The Patriots upset the Bengals and the Cowboys steamrolled Deshaun Watson and the Cleveland Browns.

All that’s left is a “Sunday Night Football” tilt which features Matt Stafford’s return to Detroit.

Not to be overlooked was Tom Brady’s return to football today — in the Fox broadcasting booth. The surefire Hall-of-Fame QB had a few awkward moments in his debut as a play caller, but overall got the job done.

Week 1 went off with a bang after the Chiefs defeated the Ravens on Thursday night and Saquon Barkley and the Eagles beat the Packers in the NFL’s debut Brazil game.

Lions win Sunday night thriller in OT

By Christian Arnold

David Montgomery rushed for 45 yards on the Lions' overtime scoring drive to lead Detroit to a 26-20 win over the Rams on "Sunday Night Football."

Montgomery capped the 70-yard drive with a 1-yard touchdown run in OT.

“We were able to run the ball pretty well there,” Lions quarterback Jared Goff said. “I think David, anytime you can get behind his pads like that and our O-line is opening up holes we’re tough. We’re tough and that drive was all them.”

Tom Brady played it safe but showed upside in $375 million Fox NFL debut

By Ryan Glasspiegel

Tom Brady had ups and downs in his highly anticipated Fox Sports announcing debut.

Fox signed Brady to a 10-year deal worth a total of $375 million more than two years ago, and the sports world has been waiting with bated breath to see how he’d perform in the booth.

The game wound up being a dud as the Cowboys won 33-17 in a contest that was effectively over at halftime, so we will have to wait at least a week longer to assess how Brady handles truly big moments.
