Nobody was cheering for 2020 anyways.

NFL Network reported Wednesday that cheerleaders and mascots won’t be allowed on the field during the 2020 season. The NFL and NFL Players Association updated their protocols and informed clubs of the change to continue limiting the personnel on the field amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Additionally, network sideline reporters and pregame TV reporters are also prohibited from field access this season, per NFL Network.

NFL teams began holding training camp late last month and are just beginning to practice in pads. The league is planning to kick off the season as scheduled on Sept. 10.
