Bruce Allen’s leadership, or lack thereof, seems to be having an adverse effect on the Redskins’ business office.
According to a report by Chris Russell of 106.7 The Fan, dozens of employees on the business side have left the Redskins since the team fired Brian Lafemina as president of business operations just seven months after hiring him. He said Allen is responsible for the mass exodus.
“We’re not talking about football players or anything like that,” Russell said. “… Nobody wants to work there. It’s a terrible culture.”
Allen has reportedly taken a bigger role in the team’s business operations since Lafemina was fired. This in addition to his football duties, for which he is under constant fire as the team has made the playoffs just twice this decade.
“From everything that I hear, there is this split between the coaching staff and Bruce,” Russell said, “where the coaching staff kind of thinks it’s all a joke and they’re wondering, ‘What the hell are you guys doing?'”
Things, evidently, aren’t much better away from the field.
“Everybody thinks on my end that I just have it out for Bruce Allen,” Russell said. “If I’m being honest, I don’t think he’s a good leader. I don’t think he’s a good person. I don’t think he treats people well.
“Nobody wants to work there. Nobody believes in the direction and the leadership of that franchise.”
