David Bakhtiari does not see a bright future for Brandon Aiyuk.
A day or so after the embattled Niners star was seen flashing stacks of cash on Instagram, Bakhtiari took to his X page to express some serious concern for the San Francisco wide receiver.
“I feel for Brandon Aiyuk,” the former Green Bay Packers left tackle wrote. “Injuries, fame, and money can pollute the mind,” he said.

It seems evident that the direction he is going will not end well for anyone involved,” Bakhtiari added.
Aiyuk has been at the center of plenty of negative headlines since 2024, following a knee injury he suffered in the months after he signed a huge contract extension with the Niners.
But the latest one, in which Aiyuk was accused of recently ghosting the Niners after not playing for nearly two full seasons, clearly has some in the NFL world feeling uneasy.
Brandon Aiyuk was seen flaunting stacks of cash on Instagram earlier this week. Brandon Aiyuk/InstagramAccording to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the 49ers have been trying to trade Aiyuk, but “they’ve had a hard him getting ahold of him.”
The NFL insider added that teams don’t want to engage in talks about a potential swap with the Niners “when they can’t even discuss it with Brandon Aiyuk.”
Brandon Aiyuk has not played a snap for the 49ers since October 2024. Getty ImagesMaking matters more distressing is San Francisco tight end George Kittle said publicly in March that he hadn’t heard from his polarizing teammate since midway through the 2025 season.
“I don’t know what’s going on with Brandon,” Kittle said. “I don’t know what he’s thinking about or what he’s thinking. I really have no idea.”
Aiyuk’s money-flaunting IG post sure seemed to be a response to all the unfavorable press, as he captioned his carousel of pictures with the words, “Bit❌❌ I’m back 2️⃣ ballin.”
Although outside of that brief sentence, Aiyuk’s offered very little insight into his mindset and his future plans — things obviously worrying Bakhtiari.
