The initial report Tuesday from NFL Network said that U.S. diplomats were working to help change Gillan’s visa from a NATO visa to a work visa.

Gillan, 25, joined the Giants this season after spending the past three years with the Browns. He’s averaging 51 yard per punt through five games, the fourth-longest average in the NFL. Gillan went undrafted in 2019 after punting for Arkansas-Pine Bluff in college. He initially played rugby in Scotland before moving to Maryland.
