Jerry Jones has not been afraid to talk about the NFL’s national anthem controversy, except when it involves him.

The Cowboys owner and GM was spotted wearing a hat while the anthem played at the start of training camp last month, and when asked Sunday if he cared to comment on the perceived faux pas, Jones punted.

“No. No. No,” Jones said, per the Dallas Morning News.

Jones has been outspoken on the issue when it comes to his players, declaring a policy that they must stand for the anthem and have their “[toes] on the line” instead of showing any signs of protest against social injustice.

After Jones repeatedly commented on the matter, the NFL told him to stop talking about it publicly as the league and the NFLPA work toward a revised agreement. The two sides have been in talks after the NFL originally issued a policy that said players must either stand on the field or stay in the locker room during the anthem, one that is on hold during the deliberations.
