The Jets have received permission to interview Colts defensive coordinator Ron Meeks, according to someone familiar with the Jets coaching search. Meeks will interview in Florham Park on Friday. This will fulfill the team’s “Rooney Rule” requirement to interview at least one minority candidate for the head coaching vacancy. Meeks is African-American.

Jets owner Woody Johnson interviewed in-house candidate Brian Schottenheimer today. He’ll talk with the other candidate from the Jets’ coaching staff, Bill Callahan, tomorrow.
