What will Aaron Rodgers do? That will be one of the biggest questions this NFL offseason.

Following his four-day “darkness retreat,” the Packers quarterback will determine if he wants to continue playing or retire for good — and if he wants out of Green Bay, the team is open to working with the four-time NFL MVP on a trade, according to NFL Network.

If Rodgers returns for a 19th season and decides to continue playing for the Packers, they would want him back. For now, the team is respecting his decision-making process and reportedly has informed interested teams that until Rodgers determines his future, it’s too early for negotiations.

That came after ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported last month that the Packers “prefer to move on” from Rodgers, who is “well aware of the Packers’ feelings on the situation.”

At the time, the outlet reported that a trade is possible due in part to financial reasons, adding that the state of the team, as well as the feelings on both sides, are also factors in keeping a potential trade on the table.

Rogers has $110 million left on his contract extension that he signed with Green Bay last spring. The reigning two-time MVP is due $59.5 million in guaranteed money in 2023 and another $49.25 million in 2024.

During his weekly appearance Tuesday on “The Pat McAfee Show,” the 39-year-old said he plans to spend four days in an isolation retreat in an effort to help him decide on his NFL future.

After watching the Chiefs face the Eagles in the Super Bowl on Sunday, Rodgers said he will enter “a room in a little house” for four nights of complete darkness, where someone will deliver him food through a slot. It’s an activity that he said has been on his calendar for months.

Rodgers has been linked to the Jets, who hired his good friend and former coach Nathaniel Hackett as offensive coordinator. The quarterback, who said that he’s not going to San Francisco, is also being recruited by former teammate and Raiders receiver Davante Adams.

Rodgers addressed trade rumors and his relationship with the Packers organization on “The Pat McAfee Show” last month.

“All the trade stuff is conjecture until I decide what I want to do moving forward for myself,” Rodgers said, adding that a trade “wouldn’t offend me, and it wouldn’t make me feel like a victim.”

Rodgers, who has spent his entire 18-year career with the Packers, said that he is “open to all honest and direct conversations” with the Packers about his future — and that it’s got to be mutual on both sides.

The Packers also have to decide on Rodgers’ backup, Jordan Love and his fifth-year option, which would be worth an estimated $20 million, fully guaranteed by May 1.

The new league year and free agency begin on March 15.
