Chris Olave will be out for a while.

The Saints are expected to place the star wide receiver on injured reserve after he suffered a concussion on Sunday, according to The Athletic

While Olave is guaranteed to miss the next four games, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported that “there’s a real chance he’s played his last down in 2024.”

Olave was stretchered off the field during New Orleans’ Week 9 loss to the Panthers after a brutal hit from Xavier Woods.

The latest incident adds to a long history of concussions for Olave.

The 24-year-old pass-catcher missed the Saints’ Oct. 17 loss to the Broncos after suffering a concussion during the week prior.

Olave suffered a concussion in both the 2022 and 2023 seasons as well.

During his college days at Ohio State, Olave suffered two injuries, including one diagnosed concussion.

The loss of Olave is just one of many problems facing the Saints during a nightmare season.

Since starting, 2-0, New Orleans has lost seven straight games and is currently tied for the worst record in the NFL.

After their loss to the lowly Panthers, the Saints fired head coach Dennis Allen.

The Saints lost fellow wide receiver Rashid Shaheed for the season to a knee injury.

Quarterback Derek Carr has also missed three games with an oblique injury.

The team went into sell mode at the trade deadline, dealing star cornerback Marshon Lattimore to the Commanders for a trio of draft picks.

Olave, the 11th overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, had 32 catches for 400 yards and one touchdown this season before going down last Sunday.
