Maybe Leon Washington isn’t asking for enough money.

The running back, seeking a reworked contract worth up to $30 million, could get up to 300 touches this season, Peter King of SI.com speculates.

“He had six touchdowns on 73 carries last year. That number has to go up — drastically. And it will,” Rex Ryan told King.

Washington’s status is in doubt with veterans scheduled to report to training camp in Cortland this week.

The Pro Bowl kick returner got 200 touches last year, according to King, 123 from scrimmage.

With Thomas Jones’ status also in doubt as he seeks a new contract, too, Washington could be asked to do more on offense.

“I hate defending against players like that,” Ryan said.
