After spending Sunday in New York City brunching with his family, Tom Brady is not there today as the Patriots open voluntary OTAs.

Brady was seen at an NYC restaurant Sunday, according to TMZ, but evidently didn’t find time to make the trip up to Foxborough. When the Patriots’ offseason program opened up, Brady was in Qatar; he doesn’t have that excuse this time.

The quarterback has missed New England’s entire offseason program thus far, a trend that will continue according to multiple reports. Brady has attended OTAs in the past, and, according to NFL Network, is expected to be at the Patriots’ mandatory minicamp next month.

This comes during an offseason in which Brady’s relationship with the Patriots, particularly with head coach Bill Belichick, has been under the microscope. Brady’s trainer, Alex Guerrero, was reportedly a central figure in drama at the start of this past season, with Belichick eventually denying him access to the team’s buildings. Retirement rumors even swirled around Brady for a while until his agent, Don Yee, told ESPN that Brady would play in 2018.

Retirement was in play for tight end Rob Gronkowski, who also has said he will return and also has not shown up at the OTAs. Without anyone saying a word, the drama is picking up at Patriots camp.
