Jalen Hurts isn’t exactly lighting it up on the field right now.
The Eagles’ star quarterback, who has a completion rate below 60 percent in four of his last five games, coughed up five turnovers during Monday night’s loss to the Chargers. He is nearing rock bottom as coach Nick Sirianni fields questions about whether he will look to bench him.
“I think that’s ridiculous. . . . I know every time I go out in that field with Jalen Hurts as our quarterback, we have a chance to win the game,” Sirianni said during a radio interview with 94 WIP whether he will bench Hurts if his poor play persists. “That’s something that’s been proven. We’ve won a lot, a lot of football games.”

Tanner McKee and Sam Howell are the two backups for Philadelphia if they decide to make a move quarterback.
Still, the fact that the Eagles are even being asked the question is noteworthy.
The Eagles have been embroiled in controversy this year, as star receiver AJ Brown has been one of the most prominent critics of Hurts’ play, calling the locker room a “s–t show” at one point.
Former teammate and Eagles legend Desean Jackson previously hinted at Brown and Hurts not seeing eye to eye this season.
“As you can tell, it’s something else going on,” said Jackson. “And I got a great relationship with him [Brown]. I respect him. I can’t say it. But I know it’s something else going on. It’s not all about football, not all about X’s and O’s. I’ve had situationships with quarterbacks I didn’t necessarily like. And I’m going to just be honest, and when it ain’t there, it sticks out like a sore thumb. That’s all I’mma say.”
Nick Sirianni has no intention of benching Hurts. APThe Eagles (8-5) have lost three straight as their grip on their division loosens, while the Cowboys (6-6-1) sit behind them and are playing solid football.
Philadelphia ends the season with the Raiders, Bills, and two games against the Commanders as they look to lock down the NFC East for the third time in four seasons.
