The Jaguars’ answer at quarterback isn’t at OTAs.

Nick Foles is absent for what the team called personal reasons, with no given timetable for a return. NFL Network reported that Foles may return by the end of this week, but there is no certainty.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with Nick and his family,” Jaguars head coach Doug Marrone said.

The Super Bowl LII MVP signed a four-year, $88 million contract with Jacksonville this offseason, including $50 million in guaranteed money. Though he has played just 12 regular season games in the last two years, Foles led the Eagles to a championship after Carson Wentz tore his ACL toward the end of the 2017 season.

When Wentz again got hurt last season, Foles picked up the slack and the Eagles closed the season with three straight wins. Thanks to some help from Bears kicker Cody Parkey, they won the wild-card game in Chicago before falling in New Orleans.

Foles is replacing the oft-maligned Blake Bortles in Jacksonville.
